Tim released QLess for Coffeeshops, Security Checkpoints, Hotels (check-in, buffet, check-out), Casinos (Poker tables, etc.), Stores and Doctor’s offices, adding to the pre-existing ones for Restaurants, Theme Parks and Nightclubs. As you can see, QLess can be rapidly customized to any vertical –anywhere where people stand in line, QLess seeks to eliminate the lines.
QLess had its public launch at our own very first booth at the G2E Gaming and Entertainment trade show in Las Vegas. I’d say it was a success all right (thanks to Tim, Steve, Pedro, Susanne, Kim and Tiffany):
Our booth was heavily attended throughout most of the show (we had QLess set up to let people queue up to kiss Tiffany, our beautiful model), much more than neighboring booths. We came back with 139 leads. Photos and adventures at http://blog.abinventio.com/ .
Purchase intention varied of course depending on whether visitors had lines or not, but the reaction to our product was almost universally positive, both to the concept and the implementation. I say almost, because there was one woman who said she hated cell phones as much as she hated lines.
We were approached by three job applicants, one of whom said we were the coolest company in the show.
We were interviewed for an industry magazine.
QLess attended IAAPA (thanks Bob!), the largest trade show in the country, if not the world, in the amusement park industry, and found significant interest in QLess, including a couple of major industry players, and an immediate request to distribute QLess by a company that handles ticketing for some of the world’s best-known events.
QLess attended ACI-NA, the country’s foremost airport conference. Although we encountered interest from airports, TSA and concessionaries in QLess and brought back lots of leads, this vertical will likely have a long sales cycle due to the number and size of the decision-makers. Unfortunately, airlines were not in attendance. Anybody know any airline executive?
